Her name is Margaret Denise Quigley or more popularly known in Hollywood as Maggie Q was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 22, 1979. Maggie is the youngest of five children to her American father and Vietnamese mother and she has two sisters and two half-siblings from her mother’s previous marriage in Vietnam. She attended secondary schooling at the Mililani High School and after graduating, she traveled to Japan and Hong Kong to pursue a career in modeling. She has also played the titular role of Harmony in the German-Singapore telemovie Das Haus Der Harmonie, starring opposite leading Singaporean actress Fann Wong. One of Maggie’s biggest Hollywood breaks came in 2006 when she starred alongside Tom Cruise in the action flick Mission: Impossible III where she played the role of Zhen, the only female member of the IMF team. Then in 2007 she was also cast in the fourth film installment of the Die Hard franchise Live Free or Die Hard with Bruce Willis and in August of that same year, she appeared in the sports comedy film Balls of Fury with actors Dan Fogler and Christopher Walken. In 2008, Maggie was given the role of Cao Ying, the grand daughter of the Ancient Chinese Warlord Cao Cao in the epic film Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon, this was the actress’ first Chinese ancient costume performance. She changed her name to Maggie Q in order for the Chinese audiences to easily pronounce her name.
